New tool holder for System 229

Paul Horn GmbH has over 25,000 standard items in its tool portfolio, with numerous different variants. They include the 229 grooving system with various holder options. To provide the user with enhanced versatility, Horn has combined the properties of the various holders into one. The new tool holder has two connections for coolant transfer, either via a threaded port on the side of the holder or directly to the insert contact surface. The internal coolant supply is fed either to the cutting edge via the insert clamping finger or directly to the flank face via a hole, enabling high cutting performance.

Horn offers the compact, square shank tool holder in  sizes 16 mm x 16 mm, 20 mm x 20 mm and 25 mm x 25 mm. All holder sizes are available from stock for cutting widths of 3.0 mm, 4.0 mm, 5.0 mm, 6.0 mm and 8.0 mm. Grooving depth is independent of the size of the tool holder. The shanks are made of high-strength steel, which ensures high precision of the insert seat and long service life of the grooving system.
